Alissa,

It appears that one or more nurses are responsible for the entire admissions process. Is this correct? Your description of the process is pretty open-ended. For example, "The nurse will complete and carry out all the physician orders." I don't know if this can work or not.

The information you gave me is too much about responsibilities and policies. What is the step by step process? Try writing it out like a kitchen recipe -- step-by-step instructions. If you can do that then this can be modeled in Arena. If not, then all we appear to have is policies and responsibilities.

You appear to be describing what was once a manual process that has already been automated. Entering a pin number, for example, is far to much a detail. My inclination is to say this will not work. Let's talk.

You are describing some process, but I think you are asking me to remember a conversation in order to correct interpret what you gave me on paper as your Installment 1. A lot of what you prepared as installment 1 is policy rather than process. I don't see much process identified. I think if you model this in Arena you are going to not have much of a model. There may be more to it than is apparent. But right now, I don't see is.

The assignment is to model and simulate (and possibly improve) a process. If I understand correctly, you are proposing amending the existing "process" by building a DBMS for multiple users. I don't see how this can work in the framework of the assignment. Let's talk, please.

I think the process you describe is incomplete. Can you go further, describing and then using Arena to model the entire process, including someone making a decision regarding eligibility and notifying the parent who made the application? If yes, then I think this can work.
